A fascinating piece, I knew so little about her beyond the play. Goodness, while your tutor pushed you to make something that fulfilled the criteria, to dissect the other in the way she did was appalling!
There was a lot going on. She was in the process of retiring and the college were looking to find her replacement. She had already behaved so badly to two previous tutors that they had left and I was the third, which was a bit of a risk as I hadn’t done this final assignment for my diploma to be fully qualified to teach C & G, despite having a PGCE.
So you can see why I was determined not to let her get me down. It was all a bit sad really as though she was try too prove no one else was as good as she had been. It made me very aware as a teacher of never putting down a student and their work to make myself feel better. Encouragement all the way!

Thank you Deborah. Fortunately it’s all a long time ago now!
I was appalled by such an insensitive approach!

Yes, I can see why the experience would have made you determined to refine what you made, which you certainly did!
I loved this!
Thank you June!
Great story, ( and history lesson! ) and a fabulous bodice, Gina.
Thank you Annie!
