I watched it last night on catch-up and spotted you - several times! Hugely enjoy the programme each year, some fantastic and inspiring art. It does take some ‘courage’ to put one’s self at the mercy of us armchair critics - I admire all the entrants for that alone! Maybe your turn next year. 😍
I certainly have a new found respect for the artists taking part. It’s enormous pressure to paint like that with all those people around and being filmed and interviewed too.
What fabulous day out Gina, it must have been so interesting to watch. I couldn't paint anything if someone was watching me let alone being filmed so hats off to all the contestants. I didn't see the programme but I am so pleased you managed to get a glimpse of yourself on the tele - hopefully you'll be submitting another painting this year - never give up!x
I’m not sure how well I would cope with an audience watching me paint whilst being filmed either but I’m sure I’ll enter again just to see what happens!
I went up to see an episode being filmed, and although I'm usually really good with sensing directions I turned the wrong way out of the station, and had to back track 5 minutes later. Seeing the tv process was fascinating, but so tricky for the painters to be constantly watched.
That’s funny. I hadn’t told anyone before hand and on Wednesday evening my phone kept buzzing with messages from people asking had they just seen me on tv!
I agree June, that was an interesting submission portrait. Unfortunately on the day he painted Richard Mabeley with a dark shadow across his face which I thought was a mistake. As though he was trying to be quirky but didn’t really pull it off. But that said it was the one that Richard chose as his favourite to take home.

What a great day out Gina..and a fascinating insight into 'behind the scenes'. Keep persevering. I think your work is fabulous!
Thank you Annie, that is very kind.

That’s interesting because I’m also usually good with directions but felt totally lost when I left the station.
It’s a great experience though isn’t it. I would definitely go again
How funny, just watched it on catchup and I thought… is that Gina?! I then came straight here as I figured if it was you would tell us all about it!

See, we all know you so well! 😉😄
It was the bright green jumper that did it 😉😂
And such a lovely green shade too! And I loved the combo with your glasses…!
Thank you 😘
How interesting! I rather like that top left portrait on the set you put up in your post. Clearly I'm no judge of what works and what doesn't!

I spotted you and said to my other half 'I'm sure that is Gina Ferrari' and when we saw you again I knew I was right. Brilliant programme!
I love the programme… it showcases such talent and in always in an interesting way.
