Such lovely memories! I love what you did in your kitchen, that painting of the lemon tree on your hutch also makes me smile, and I love how you are utilizing it. Cooking has always been a reprieve for me, and I've also been trying hard to keep the Italian simple yet fresh vibe going since returning home.
Gina, your descriptive writing transports me back to our idyllic time at il Magesse! It was special in so many ways, the food being one of them. Thank you!
Thank you Shelley. Didn’t we have the best time and I loved your storytelling. I was thinking the other day that your tale about Randy and Fred would be a great one to write down too!
I love your lemon tree! I’m currently re-arranging plants, photos, ornaments etc but haven’t reached the kitchen yet - much food for thought! The tiramisu sounds delicious, we have friends coming for supper next weekend so they will be treated to this, thank you.
Wow, how wonderful to have created the lemon tree shelving area. Beautiful and joyous every day. Which takes me to add another task: to clear out the many cookbooks I have built up and hardly ever use.
I have so many cookbooks too. I have managed to get rid of a few but I love reading them, even though I might only cook one thing from the entire book… and I could probably find it online if I looked!
Love your shelves and lemon tree! I’d love to have a more open plan kitchen/dining room but it’d involve pretty hefty demolition, rebuilding, what to do with the piano…it’s a whole load of dominoes 😕
Even without the demolition/rebuilding and just decorating that is what it feels we have been doing for the past two weeks… moving stuff from one room to another and back again. Trying to streamline and declutter as we go. I’m exhausted!
What a lovely retreat. I'm sure the gnocchi and tiramisu were delicious and I love the lemon tree idea. I might get the details of the writing retreat from you.
Sounds like a wonderful time…and a delicious tiramisu!
Definitely the best version of tiramisu I have ever had!
I’m a bit worried about there being only two teasooons of Vin Santo in the tiramisù!
I was surprised too having always given my tiramisu a good dousing of alcohol in the past but it really doesn't need it!
Looks terrific!
Thank you!

Thank you Amy. Trying very hard to keep the Italian vibes alive through what we are eating, although not always easy once real life kicks in!

Thank you Jane. The clearing up has continued all weekend but finally feels like we’re making progress.
Enjoy the tiramisu!

Thanks for reminding me of our workshop times. Your photos are gorgeous.
Thank you Sheri
Oh Gina! You’ve taken me right back to the day. Thank you!! 💛

It was amazing but I think any sort of retreat in Italy would be fantastic… How could it not!
Rosie is running another one in October. I’ll send you a link
