I stumbled across your piece out of the blue yesterday and I enjoyed reading it so much - it really made my day and I especially liked seeing your responses to the two activities. Thank you for coming along and writing this wonderful reflection on the workshop. It was the first workshop of it's kind that I've led and, like you, I was also nervous. Also - yes, you should absolutely refer to yourself as a writer!
I'm also looking forward to reading the Christine Coulson book you recommended.
Thank you so much. This has made my day too. I would never have guessed it was the first workshop like this that you have led. You certainly didn’t appear nervous.
I have been brave and have signed up for a writing retreat next year on the strength of doing this one day 😁
It sounds such a great day and well done for bravely proclaiming yourself. Next time, I am Gina, and artist and writer! ( So sorry I missed this earlier. )
As you are too! I think words and pictures go well together. And please don’t apologise. I have so much backlog of things to read that I’m sure I’m missing loads
I enjoyed reading about your day at the writing workshop. Interesting to hear your views and nerves as a pupil at the workshop rather than the tutor role that you have so often been in the past. Keep writing I enjoy hearing all about your observations on so many different subjects and places.
Thank you Sheralyn. Most weeks I start out with no idea what I will be writing about but hope that something pops up before Sunday comes around again. Pleased to know you enjoy my ramblings though
It does sound like an interesting day and a great concept. It also reminded me of an experiment in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam about 10 or so years ago whereby they got Alain de Botton (I think) to put yellow post it notes next to various works in the collection with thinking "prompts". I must say the whole thing was so infuriating and pretentious that I complained to the museum management!
Exactly! Ironically it meant to make you as the museum goer question the explanations given with the art works and think for yourself. I think your workshop was far more thought provoking!
Sounds like a very interesting day Gina xx
I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy it so I was pleasantly surprised x

That’s hilarious! I can imagine it would be very annoying. Like being told what to think! The workshop was fun though

How intriguing! So glad you didn’t miss it
It’s good to challenge ourselves to do things we might not usually consider. I was very pleasantly surprised
