I love this. Thank you for sharing the imaginings as they are realised into something fully real. Did they it ever strike you what odd-shaped heads they seemed to have back then? I suppose they were bred to support the regulation crown ! And of course such vanity was never going to give us a true likeness. The well-paid painters wouldn’t dare.
Seems like yesterday I sent you my little cupcake - still one of the best things I’ve ever managed to knit, I’m honoured it was given a place in the finished wig! Sadly I have no useful suggestions for what you could do with it all now 🤷🏻♀️ but I’m sure your collection will find a happy home some day.
I was honoured that you knitted me a cake! Although I expect the entire collection of bodices will end up in a tip when someone eventually clears my house!
Sadly no, I really do not like using zoom at the best of times. I can’t imagine trying to give a talk on zoom although I am aware that people do. I like the interaction with a ‘live’ audience but don’t miss all the travelling and getting back late at night!
Simply amazing! I do hope you find a way of sharing the vests, and the wig, as so much thought and work has gone into them. Perhaps approach organisers of a wool festival for their ideas?
I found all the little notes and cards that people sent with their cakes recently and it was lovely to look through them. I’m guessing it must be at least 13 years ago as I saw the exhibition in 2009/2010. How time flies!

Thank you Mary. I’m quite certain that all court portrait painters would veer towards a more flattering depiction of their sitters!
Just fabulous!
Thank you Annie!
Amazing outfits! As always a fascinating blog. Thank you.
Thank you Viv!

Nooooooo!!
I remember sending you a knitted cupcake! Such a fun project to be part of. How long ago was it?
I just love all this, would you do zoom talks?
Regards
Ann Lea

That hat is amazing, What a brilliant imagination you have Gina!
Thank you Sheena. Slightly worrying some of the stuff I think up!

Thank you Bronwyn. I like the idea of a knitting or wool festival although have a sneaky feeling it would involve more driving around the country!
I loved this. I am now musing on knitting my own warm vests for next winter.....
Thank you June. Knitted vests would be okay but I think I would give those knitted knickers a miss!
So inventive and brilliant!
Thank you Deborah!
