A very pretty top.

Love 'Memories' too.

In 2020 I set myself the challenge of not buying any new clothes (apart from underwear essentials) when I realised just how many T-shirts and jumpers I had. Now into the 6th year and it's going okay but it's made me realise that no new clothes also means keeping a close eye on my weight!

Thank you!

I did the same in 2020 and went a year buying nothing new, although didn’t keep it up beyond a year. However I buy a lot less as a result. I can’t imagine your weight changes very much… you are always very trim!

That’s one beautiful blouse! So much nicer and infinitely more wearable than my ‘surgical scrubs’ effort, and then my ‘polycotton duvet cover’ second attempt 😂 …and I saw your knickers on Instagram (yes, I wrote that deliberately) and they’re marvellous, too. I spent the rest of the evening in a sewing pattern rabbit hole, and was very pleased to snag myself a dungaree pattern. This whole thing harks back to that same thing: the compulsion to MAKE even though we don’t need the THINGS!

Absolutely all about the making! I have so much that I have sewn (and knitted) that I don’t like or don’t wear. There’s also that satisfaction of upcycling something. I see some fabulous outfits on IG made from old curtains but I know if it was me I would just look like I was wearing curtains not some stylish dress! Good luck with the dungarees… now there’s a garment I don’t have…. Mmmm 🤔

They’re very comfy things…I have a couple but save them up for…? Exactly the same as you - every day I’ll be wearing ‘dog walking’ leggings even though I no longer have a dog, and all my ‘nice’ clothes stay stuffed into the wardrobe.

I know it’s only five days in but I’m finding it really useful to keep a diary of what I’m wearing each day. Today I put on a pair of Lucy and Yak trousers that I love but never wear… and realised that I just need to chop a couple of inches off and turn up the hem to make them feel comfortable. So that’s today’s job rather than just stuffing them back in the wardrobe. I have a feeling this is going to take longer than just May! 😂

The blouse is really sweet, and a great piece of up cycling. I like the idea of Me Made May, but I haven't made any clothes since high school! I could take a better look at what I've got though, like you I tend to throw on the same stuff every day rather than wear other clothes that really like. Makes no sense!

My own wardrobe is such a mishmash of random stuff that it’s just easier to throw on the same things rather than think about what to wear every day. The jeans were back on again yesterday!

A great piece of up-cycling, Gina.

Thank you. I’m still very conscious it feels like a tablecloth but it feels too pretty not to wear!
